Mercer Bears at Chattanooga Mocs ATS Prediction

In the Bears’ last contest, they were defeated by the East Tennessee State Buccaneers, 72-68. East Tennessee State out-rebounded Mercer. The Buccaneers had 27 offensive rebounds and 50 total rebounds, while the Bears had six and 23, respectively. Ross Cummings was the top scorer from either team with 22 points on 6-for-14 shooting.

The Mocs were victorious over the Samford Bulldogs in their last game, 80-75. Chattanooga had an effective field goal percentage of 0.627 (above their season average of 0.519). Samford, meanwhile, had a turnover percentage of 8.6 (better than their season average of 18.1). With 18 points and 11 rebounds, Ramon Vila put together a good game for Chattanooga.

After the Bears won both contests against the Mocs last season, these teams will go head-to-head for the first time this year. In the last contest, Mercer won 84-75. Mercer’s 0.779 effective field goal percentage was its largest advantage over Chattanooga, who had a rate of 0.552.

It could be a mistake-prone game for the Chattanooga offense. Chattanooga ranks 152nd in the nation in ball protection (turnover percentage of 18.5 percent), while the disruptive defense of Mercer forces the 34th-most turnovers in the NCAA (23.0 percent).
