Mexican Liga Fantasy: Week 8 Lineup

The slate for Saturday’s Mexican Liga MX features five games, but Draftkings has narrowed down the list to focus on four games in particular for its daily fantasy league competitions. We took a long look at the featured matchups to determine the best possible lineup for this weekend’s action. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings Premier League daily Mexican Liga fantasy.

GK: Agustin Marchesin, Club America

Salary: $5,200

Club America is coming off another wild clash with Guadalajara but they are in a favorable position to bounce back with a win over Cruz Azul. Marchesin has been solid all season and he should have a realistic shot at a clean sheet win against one of a handful of clubs that are actually below Club America in the Mexican Liga MX table this weekend.

D: Raul Lopez, Pachuca

Salary: $4,500

Pachuca is currently locked in to the sixth spot in the Mexican Liga MX table with an excellent opportunity to continue their ascent this week with a win over Veracruz. Lopez has been the top fantasy option on Pachuca’s back end all season and that should continue this Saturday.

D: Jose Daniel Guerrero, Club America

Salary: $2,800

After locking in Marchesin as our goalkeeper, it only makes sense to circle back to Guerrero as an outstanding value option for Saturday’s DraftKings contests. Listed at under $3K, Guerrero should be in line for a strong fantasy score as a strong sleeper pick for this weekend.

M: Urreta, Pachuca

Salary: $9,800

Urreta has lived up to his status as a star for Pachuca this season with five assists, which, leaves him tied for fifth among all scorers in the league. Pachuca will have a tough test versus Veracruz this Saturday and they will need a strong performance out of Urreta in order to get the win. Pachuca has been one of the best teams in terms of defense for Mexican Liga fantasy as they’ve allowed just five goals so far. That’s the second-best number in the league.

M: Elias Hernandez, Leon

Salary: $6,000

Hernandez’s six assists this season has him locked in a four-way tie for the most in Mexican Liga MX. Hernandez might not be the most lethal scorer but his playmaking ability combined with his low price tag makes him an excellent value pick this weekend.

It’s not often that we consider someone from Leon is considered for Mexican Liga fantasy. They enter the week in last place in the Mexican League with just five points in seven games. Their main issues has been at the back end of the pitch as they’ve allowed 13 goals, which is the most of any team so far.

F: Ismael Sosa, Tigres UANL

Salary: $7,700

Sosa is tied for fifth in the Mexican Liga MX in scoring with eight goals on the season, and the fact that he is listed at under $8K makes him even more appealing in DraftKings contests. Sosa should be in line for another strong fantasy performance on Saturday at a very reasonable price at the forward position. UANL enters the week in 13th place in the Mexican League. In terms of Mexican Liga fantasy, they’ve been the team of sevens so far this season as they’ve scored seven goals, allowed seven goals and have totaled seven points so far this season.

F: Renato Ibarra, Club America

Salary: $6,000

Ibarra is an even better value listed at just $6K in DraftKings tournaments. Ibarra is tied with Hernandez, Tijuana’s Milton Caraglio and Club America’s Darwin Quintero for the most assists in the Mexican Liga MX with six so he should be a lock in most DraftKings competitions lineups this weekend.

FLEX: Silvio Romero, Club America

Salary: $5,100

While we were tempted to take a chance on leading scorers Mauro Boselli or Dayro Moreno, we couldn’t resist going with Romero instead based on his ridiculously low price tag considering his production. Romero is currently tied for fifth in the Mexican Liga MX with 10 goals this season and at just over $5K he is the absolute best value play on the board for this weekend’s DraftKings competitions.
