Gamblers can also wager on the game’s runline with the odds standing at Marlins +1.5 runs (-130) and Braves +-1.5 runs (+110).

The Braves are 27-17 SU and 27-16 ATS. They’ve gained 11.9 units for moneyline bettors and 11.7 units against the spread (ATS). Atlanta has covered the spread four times in its last seven games and the under has hit in four of those seven. The Marlins have gone 17-28 SU this year and are 23-21 ATS. Overall, the team’s gained 0.5 units for moneyline bettors in the season’s early going, but have lost 1.6 units ATS. Miami’s covered the spread five times in its last seven games and the total has gone under in four of those seven.

Braves games have an over/under record of 20-20-3 so far in 2018. Miami has an over/under record of 21-23.

The left-handed Wei-Yin Chen is the probable starter for Miami. Chen is 1-2 with a 7.56 ERA and nine strikeouts. He has yet to face the Braves this year and did not record a start against them in 2017, either.

The Braves are putting the ball in the hands of righty Julio Teheran (4-1, 3.49 ERA), who has 43 strikeouts and 21 walks, as well as a 1.16 WHIP. Teheran made two starts against the Marlins in 2017, putting together a 1-1 record with a 3.75 ERA and seven strikeouts.

Miami’s pitching staff allowed 5.3 runs per game and its starters own a 4.66 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 7.70 K/9. The bullpen has an ERA of 5.56, along with a K-per-9 of 9.30.

Marlins hitters have slashed .228/.298/.337 on their way to 3.4 runs scored per game in 2018, including 3.0 runs per game against divisional foes and 2.6 per game over the team’s last five outings (3-2 SU).

Miami’s offense has been led by first baseman Justin Bour and catcher J.T. Realmuto. Bour is slashing .242/.383/.462 with nine home runs, 23 RBIs and 16 runs scored, while Realmuto has a .313 average with six homers, 13 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

Putting up a slash line of .343/.377/.584 across 247 plate appearances, Realmuto enjoyed hitting against righty pitching on the road last year (his overall season line was .278/.332/.451).

For the home team, Atlanta’s pitching staff has allowed 3.8 runs per game overall this year. The team’s starters have a 3.37 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.9 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 3.41 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 9.0 K/9. In 27 games against NL East opponents, Braves starters have an ERA of 2.80 and the bullpen’s ERA is 2.51.

The Atlanta hitters have produced 5.3 runs per contest, including 5.7 per game against divisional foes and 4.0 per game over their last five. The team’s hit .225/.331/.411 over its last five matchups and is 3-2 SU during that stretch.

The Braves’ offense has been led by first baseman Freddie Freeman and right fielder Nick Markakis. Freeman is hitting .317/.427/.567 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs and 31 runs scored, and Markakis has put up a line of .341/.412/.523 with seven homers, 30 RBIs and 30 runs.

Compared to his overall season slash line of .307/.403/.586, Freeman did not do as well hitting against lefty pitching at home last year, slashing .222/.275/.397 over 69 such plate appearances.

The Marlins have lost 0.1 units and are 16-17 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher this year. The over has hit in 15 of those games, compared to 18 that’ve gone under against righty starters. On the other hand, the Braves have netted 5.3 units and are 7-4 ATS when facing a left-handed starting pitcher. The over has hit in six of those games, as opposed to five that’ve gone under.
