I always love reading anonymous MLB executives talking about anything. Now, ESPN has done the legwork in providing a survey where anonymous MLB execs are polled on a variety of off-season questions.

For example, these questions range on what team will make the biggest splash to what superstar will be on the move. The link to the entire article is right here, and it’s worth a full read after we highlight it for you below.

First off, about half the executives polled (7 of 15) said the Los Angeles Angels would be the team to make the biggest off-season splash. Therefore, what does one anonymous executive think about the team who will make the biggest splash. And moreover, what does it meant to him?

“If any team signs two of the bigger names, then that’s the biggest splash,” one voter said. “The Angels are the easy answer here, but they can’t win the winter via trade. It has to come by signing some pitchers.”

Next up, most of the executives see Francisco Lindor as the most likely superstar to begin 2020 with a new team. This is slightly more than that of Kris Bryant. Equally important is that Mookie Betts got zero votes.

Finally, one executive says that Gerrit Cole is worth every penny of the $300 million dollar deal he believes he will get.

“It would be hard to choose Cole over Rendon as the player to live up to his paycheck just based on positions,” one executive said, “but if he takes his last two years and keeps on that path with whoever he pitches for, he’ll be worth every penny.”

There are a lot of great questions throughout the rest of it – and just like reading anonymous scouts – it makes for a great read. This was highly recommended content put out by ESPN on MLB, for once.
