MLB odds:   After years of coasting to the American League Central Division championship and playoffs the Detroit Tigers are finally being pressed by the Kansas City Royals and find themselves in a neck-and-neck race as their losses continue to mount on the MLB betting board.  The Texas Rangers have gone from a perennial power in the American League West to a team struggling to stay at the .500 mark as they have not been profitable on the betting board either in 2014.  The Texas Rangers will host the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night at Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX with coverage on MLBN starting at 8:05 PM ET.

Pitching Drops for Detroit

The Detroit Tigers are down -685 betting units thanks in large part to a pitching staff that ranked 25th in MLB for earned run average and a bullpen that ranked dead last in MLB and had 7 blown saves.  They are being carried in large part by a lineup that ranked 5th in MLB for run production and 2nd for both batting average and OPS.

Pitching Woes for Rangers Too

Texas ranks 29th in MLB for staff earned run average, 30th for quality starts, and 27th for bullpen ERA.  The Rangers rank 10th for run production and 3rd for batting average.

The Pick

The Texas Rangers have won 13 out of their last 20 games with the Detroit Tigers as just 9 out of those 20 games went under the total.  Texas has won 14 out of their last 20 home games with the Tigers as just 7 out of those 20 games went under the total.  We’ll call for the underdog and over the total in this one!
