MLB odds: It has been yet another letdown start for the Kansas City Royals who finished the second half of the 2013 season as the hottest team on the diamond. The Royals entered the 2014 season picked as the team that could best unseat the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central Division but, just like 2013, killed the mood with a lethargic start as their lack of offense remains a problem and the pitching has slipped a notch. The Tigers have remained as the top team in the AL Central and there is little evidence pointing to a change coming any time soon. The Tigers will host the Royals at Comerica Park on Tuesday night with coverage on MLBN starting at 7:08 PM ET.
A Royal Struggle
The Royals were 15-16 on the road but were a profitable 33-30 on the run line as just 13 out of their 31 away games went over the total. Kansas City ranks 24th for run production, 29th for OPS, and 30th for home runs. It also ranks 14th in earned run average.
Tigers Win Yet Lose
The Tigers are 16-15 at home and are losing 27-32 on the run line as they are still unable to sustain betting value and profits despite being a playoff team. Detroit ranks 6th for run production, 2nd for batting average, and 4th for OPS. The Tigers are struggling on the hill as they ranked 20th for earned run average and 18th for fewest errors committed.
The Pick
We’ll take the Kansas City Royals on the run line in this one!
