MLB selections:   The San Francisco Giants have been one of the top teams in the National League and one of the most profitable teams on the MLB betting board as they are in a hot race with the arch rival Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League West.  The San Diego Padres have been one of the worst teams on the diamond and at the betting board as they wallow through another season of mediocrity and unfulfilled promise.  The San Diego Padres will host the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park Saturday night with coverage on FOX starting at 7:15 PM ET.

Giant Profits

The Giants have been at their best on the road with a mark of 22-15 and have gone under the total in just 17 out of 37 away games.  The Giants ranked 16th in MLB for run production and 8th for earned run average and boasted the 6th best bullpen in MLB.

Losses Mount

The Padres were 20-23 at home, -1336 betting units overall, and -3059 betting units with the run line as their lack of run production was killing off any chances for a .500 season.  San Diego ranked 30th for runs scored which offset a pitching staff that was 7th for ERA.

The Pick

Heading into this series the Giants got the money in 11 out of their last 20 games against the Padres with just 2 out of the last 9 meetings between the Padres and Giants going over the total.  The Giants and Padres have split their last 20 games at Petco Park with 10 wins apiece as 12 out of those 20 games going over the total.  We’ll call for the Giants on the run line!
