MLS Fantasy: Daily Fantasy Lineup For Week 6

The MLS fantasy season continues this weekend with seven games on the schedule for Saturday. That means plenty of options when it comes to building a winning starting XI in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. The good news is that we have looked ahead to this week’s matchups in order to find the best combination of star talent and strong value plays in order to help you to build the best possible team. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s MLS Fantasy Leagues.

GK: David Bingham, San Jose

Salary: $2,800

The Earthquakes are off to an incredible start with three wins and two draws through their first six games and they will have another favorable position this week against Portland. The Timbers have gone winless in their last five games and there is no reason to expect them to break that slide this week. Bingham has been solid for San Jose with a couple of clean sheet wins already this season and he is a strong MLS fantasy play at just $2.8K this weekend.

D: Ambroise Oyongo, Montreal

Salary: $3,500

Montreal bounced back from back-to-back losses to FC Dallas and Seattle with a 2-0 win over Columbus last week and will look to keep the momentum going this week against Chicago. Oyongo has been a steady force on the Impact’s back line early on this season and he should be a strong play this week versus Chicago.

D: Marc Burch, Colorado

Salary: $3,300

The New York Red Bulls have been an absolute disaster early on with five losses through their first six games and a trip to Colorado won’t help them break out of their funk. Burch has looked good for the home side and is a strong value play at just $3.3K.

D: Kip Colvey, San Jose

Salary: $2,900

After plugging in Bingham as our goalkeeper it only makes sense to roll with at least one San Jose defender. Colvey is available at under $3K so he makes for the perfect fit in our optimal lineup as a strong value option.

M: Federico Higuain, Columbus

Salary: $6,900

After saving some money by plugging in smart value options at the defender positions we can spend big on our attacking players beginning with Higuain. He is one of the more expensive players at his position but he is also one of the most talented playmakers in the MLS and he should be an excellent play with the Crew set to host New York City FC.

M: Marco Pappa, Colorado

Salary: $5,600

Pappa has been exceptional for Colorado early on and we expect that trend to continue with a favorable matchup against the Red Bulls. The Rapids’ midfielder has a goal and three assists already this season and there is a very good chance he adds to those totals with a favorable matchup for Colorado at home this weekend.

M: Andrea Pirlo, New York City FC

Salary: $5,300

NYCFC is off to a terrible start this season but that doesn’t mean Pirlo doesn’t have the potential to shine as he continues to try and help them break out of their funk. Pirlo has been limited to five shots through five games but at just $5.3K he is worth taking a chance on to break through this week against Columbus.

F: Chris Wondolowski, San Jose

Salary: $7,100

We still have a substantial amount of money left over to spend on our final four positions and with a couple of strong value FLEX plays already in mind it only makes sense to spend big on the forward positions beginning with Wondolowski. The Earthquakes striker has five goals in six games already this season and should be a lock for another strong performance versus Portland.

F: Fabian Espindola, DC United

Salary: $6,800

DC United has struggled overall but Espindola has looked good up front with three goals through the first five games of the MLS season. His price point and the fact that he should see plenty of scoring opportunities at home versus Toronto FC make him a strong second pick to pair with Wondolowski at our forward positions.

FLEX: Sean Davis, New York Red Bulls

Salary: $2,900

The Red Bulls will likely lean on the promising youngster with the hope that he can help them break through and that makes Davis a strong sleeper option at under $3K for this Saturday’s DraftKings MLS Fantasy Leagues.

FLEX: Benoit Cheyrou, Toronto FC

Salary: $2,900

Cheyrou is still looking for his first point of the season but he was all over the field for Toronto FC in its loss to Montreal last week and it will only be a matter of time before he breaks through. Toronto gets a favorable matchup versus DC United this week and Cheyrou should be a strong sleeper play at under $3K.
