MLS Fantasy: Week 20 Daily Fantasy Lineup

The MLS season continues with a full slate of games on Saturday as 12 different teams will be in action. The slate includes five of six games starting at 9 PM Eastern time or later so there will be plenty of action to get us through the night. We took the time to break down the rosters for the 12 teams in action in order to create what we feel is the best possible combination of star players and strong sleeper value plays. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings MLS fantasy leagues.

GK: Alex Bono, Toronto FC

Salary: $3,500

Toronto FC looked very average against Columbus on Wednesday night but still managed to salvage a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the Trillium Cup. TFC should bounce back with a better effort at San Jose on Saturday night and that should mean another solid defensive effort. Bono has taken over as Toronto’s starting goalkeeper for the time being due to injury and at just $3.5K he is an outstanding value play for Saturday night’s DraftKings contests.

D: Drew Moor, Toronto FC

Salary: $4,000

Moor has been solid defensively for Toronto this season and he has shown flashes of his offensive potential from time to time as well. Moor is still available at a very reasonable $4K and he should be a strong fit as our top defender selection, especially if TFC ends up recording the clean sheet victory in a favorable matchup against San Jose.

D: Walker Zimmerman, FC Dallas

Salary: $3,600

FC Dallas had its three-game win streak snapped with a blowout loss at Seattle that should wake them up in a major way. FC Dallas climbed to the top of the Western Conference with three straight wins by a combined 7-0 score over their pervious three games so we fully expect them to bounce back this Saturday against a Chicago side that is buried at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings right now.

M: Mauro Diaz, FC Dallas

Salary: $9,600

Diaz actually leads FC Dallas with nine assists so far this season and he has chipped in with two goals as well to give him 11 points. Diaz will feature as the most talented player in Saturday’s game against the Fire and he should have no problem adding to his point total as the top midfield option on the board in MLS fantasy tournaments.

M: Benny Feilhaber, Sporting KC

Salary: $7,600

Feilhaber ranks second on Sporting Kansas City in both goals and assists with five and four respectively. He will be looking to add to that total when they visit Colorado on Saturday. Feilhaber has the potential to produce at a very high level and we love that we can lock him in here at under $8K in MLS fantasy.

F: Sebastian Giovinco, Toronto FC

Salary: $12,600

Giovinco has missed time because of injury but he should be able to play against San Jose on the weekend and that will mean instant production. Giovinco has already recorded eight goals and seven assists so far this season to lead all TFC players by a long shot and he should be well rested for their date with the Earthquakes. Keep an eye on the wire to make sure he is good to go as it shouldn’t be a problem for MLS fantasy.

F: Maximiliano Urruti, FC Dallas

Salary: $6,500

Urruti’s four goals and three assists this season have him among the leading scorers for FC Dallas and the fact that he is still available at under $7K makes him a strong choice for DraftKings tournaments. Urruti should have his chances to add to his point total against the Fire and he is the perfect compliment to Giovinco in a starting lineup.

FLEX: Aubrey David, FC Dallas

Salary: $2,500

There is no way we would have loaded up with so much firepower in the midfield and at the forward position if it wasn’t for some excellent value at the defender positions including David, who is somehow available at just $2.5K. David should start and play substantial minutes once again for FC Dallas on Saturday so he should be a strong FLEX play that allows us to spend big at the other positions on DraftKings.
