World Tour Soccer Podcast: The State of American Soccer

On this week’s episode of the Get More Sports World Tour Soccer Podcast, our special guest is Phil Schoen, game commentator from beINsports.

In this jam-packed half-hour show, we talk about some of the most important soccer topics today in MLS, the NASL and the USL.

We discuss the state of soccer in America and share our thoughts of a tiered system that is currently not in place in American soccer compared to what we see all around Europe. We each give feedback on how promotion and relegation would affect how teams go about their seasons.

In addition, we talk about how some teams take certain cups and competitions that are outside of league play less seriously than others, and how it takes away from the integrity of the game.

Finally, we discussed the entrances of new teams coming into the leagues on a year-by-year basis on all levels of soccer in the United States.

Join us for this in-depth discussion. It was a great time with Phil Schoen and we already are talking about having him back on the air to review Euro 2016 and Copa Americana.

Don’t miss our soccer podcast every week on Get More Sports as we discuss the beautiful game around the world.
