AXS TV Fights comes to us from the Horseshoe Tunica Resort and Casino in Mississippi this Friday night with a show called the “RFA vs Legacy”, pitting the Resurrection Fighting Alliance and the Legacy Fighting Championships promotions against each other.  The main event fight is a duel between the two company’s flyweight champions as Damacio Page of Legacy fights Alexandre Pantoja from RFA.

This one should be explosive, as the veteran Page has earned a reputation for exciting fights.  Furthermore, he has gone 4-0 under the Legacy promotion’s banner and he is willing to fight anyone.  Page may be remembered for his UFC run that ended in July of 2012 with him 0-3, but since then he has gone 4-0 for Legacy, proving that there is life as a pro MMA fighter beyond the UFC.  The problem for Page has always been when he runs into elite athletes or elite talent.  He is a resourceful fighter who is fun to watch, so what if he has trouble with UFC level talent?

Well, in Pantoja, that could very well be what he is facing.  Pantoja brings a solid 15-2 record that comes mainly from Brazil’s tough Shooto circuit.  Furthermore, he is a product of Brazil’s Nova Uniao academy and therefore he has been around UFC champions such as Jose Aldo and Renan Barao at the highest levels of the sport.  In his RFA debut he took a beating at the hands of hard punching Matt Manzanares, but he got the takedown and finished the fight with a rear naked choke to grab the RFA belt in very convincing fashion.  Though he does not have the history with the RFA that Page has with Legacy, you can certainly expect Pantoja to be hungry as he gets a chance on a bigger stage here.

Along with several other cross-promotion fights, the RFA Bantamweight title is also on the line as Luke Sanders (9-0) defends his belt against Terrion Page (11-3).  Likewise, Legacy’s vacant lightweight belt is on the line between Mike Brounzoulis (17-8-1) and Dave Burrow (13-5).    The cross promotional fights sees RFA heavyweight Jan Jorgensen (6-1) facing Legacy fighter Joe Cason (9-1).

At welterweight,  Bojan Velickovic of RFA takes on 7-3 Chris Byrd of Legacy.  At lightweight, RFA fighter Adam Townsend (12-3) faces Legacy fighter Chris Feist (8-1).
