NBA Fantasy: Thursday Daily Leagues Advice

After navigating through an absolutely loaded slate that featured 24 NBA teams in action on Wednesday, the schedule is reduced dramatically for Thursday with only five games. That should make it a little easier to narrow down the best possible combination of star players and strong value options when it comes to DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues and we have compiled some important advice to help in that process. Here is a look at some important NBA fantasy advice to consider for Thursday.

Weak Defense To Target: Brooklyn Nets

The Nets have dropped three in a row along with eight of their last 10 games and their weak defense should be worth targeting in Daily Fantasy Leagues. Brooklyn ranks 22nd in the NBA with an average of 104.8 points allowed per game this season and they will be in tough when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night. LeBron James has been talked about a lot over the last couple of days because of his social media decisions, but it’s hard to trust him in DraftKings tournaments against a weak opponent like the Nets. The better bet is to take a chance on Channing Frye with the hope that he can continue to produce at a decent level. Frye has averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 three-point shots, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game over the last week of action and he should be able to capitalize on this matchup with a strong fantasy score.

Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Paul George, Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are in a fight to make the playoffs right now and George has really stepped up with some excellent numbers of late. George has averaged 26.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 three-point shots and 2.0 steals per game over the last seven days and there is no reason to think he can’t at least match those averages when the Pacers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night. The Pelicans are a sinking ship and are not really playing with much energy these days.

Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Shelvin Mack, Doug McDermott

Shelvin Mack has really stepped up his game since he joined the Utah Jazz and until they raise his price tag on DraftKings or his production dips he should be a strong value option. Mack has capitalized on the opportunity he has been given in Utah by averaging 12.5 points, 5.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 1.4 three-point shots and 1.0 steal per game over the past month and it would be hard to pass on him for Thursday’s Daily Fantasy Leagues when the Jazz visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls are right behind Indiana in the Eastern Conference playoff race, but they should be able to close the gap when they visit the New York Knicks. Doug McDermott has been given every opportunity to step up and be a key play for the Bulls and his production is testament to that he has taken advantage of it. McDermott has averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 three-point shots, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game over the last week of action and he should be another strong value option to consider for your lineup.

Highest Scoring Game of The Night: POR @ LAC

The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers are both top-10 teams in terms of points per game this season and there is a good chance they will produce the highest scoring matchup of the night. Damian Lillard and Chris Paul have been fantasy studs all season, but both teams have strong value options that are worth consideration. That includes Portland big man Miles Plumlee, who has produced some solid fantasy numbers of late. Plumlee has averaged 12.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game over the last seven days and should be a strong pick. Meanwhile, J.J. Redick continues to put up strong numbers for Los Angeles at a very reasonable price. Redick has averaged 19.3 points, 3.3 three-point shots, 2.3 assists and 1.0 rebound per game over the past week and he could very well top those averages in a high scoring matchup with the Trail Blazers.
