NBA Fantasy: Sunday Cheatsheet

The weekend will wrap up with only five games on the schedule in the NBA on Sunday, but that is more than enough action to make some serious cash on DraftKings NBA fantasy. The key will be maximizing the potential of every single dollar you have available when finding the perfect combination between star picks and strong value options so we have broken down the matchups in order to steer you in the right direction. Here is some important fantasy advice to keep in mind for Sunday’s NBA action.

Weak Defense To Target: Los Angeles Lakers

The Philadelphia 76ers will be too easy of a target when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Sunday and there is a good chance the home team sits the majority of its star players for a good portion of what should be a lopsided win. That leaves the Los Angeles Lakers as the weak defense worth targeting when they host the Washington Wizards on Sunday night. The Lakers have dropped seven of their last 10 games, but their 10 home wins this season should be enough to push the Wizards on the road. Otto Porter Jr. has put up some solid numbers for Washington of late and is a good player to roll with in order to capitalize on the matchup. Porter has averaged 13.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 three-point shots, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game over the last week of action and should be a strong value option.

Player Who’s Hot Right Now: James Harden, Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are battling for a playoff spot right now and the sense of urgency the entire team is showing is being exhibited by James Harden right now. The Rockets’ superstar guard has been absolutely on fire of late and that trend should continue when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Harden has averaged 25.3 points, 10.1 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.3 three-point shots per game over the past seven days and it makes sense to ride the hot hand with Houston fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Rest, Injuries Create Opportunities For… D.J. Augustin, Myles Turner

As long as D.J. Augustin continues to average upwards of 27 minutes per game for the Denver Nuggets he should remain a productive value option in Daily Fantasy Leagues. Augustin has averaged 15.0 points, 6.1 assists, 2.0 rebounds, 1.9 three-point shots and 1.4 steals per game over the last week of action and will need to keep up the production with a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Myles Turner has averaged just over 25 minutes per game for the Indiana Pacers over the past seven days and has made the most of his opportunity with some solid production. Turner has averaged 13.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game over that span and should be a decent NBA fantasy option at the power forward position when the Pacers host the Houston Rockets.

Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: DAL @ SAC

The Sacramento Kings rank fourth in points per game and 30th in points allowed per game this season, so it’s no surprise that they are usually involved in high scoring games. That should be the case again when they host a Dallas Mavericks team that ranks 11th in the NBA in points per game this season. DeMarcus Cousins and Dirk Nowitzki are the obvious star options, but they will also cost you a significant amount of your cap space. The better bet might be to capitalize on the matchup with a pair of strong value options. Rajon Rondo has put up some solid numbers across the board for the Kings of late, averaging 10.6 points, 10.4 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game over the last seven days. Meanwhile, J.J. Barea is a strong value option to consider for Dallas based on the numbers he has put up over the last week. Barea has averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 three-point shots per game over that span and is available at a very reasonable price on DraftKings ahead of this matchup.
