In a recent interview with The Athletic, Charles Barkley spoke about Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons and only had kind words to say. However, he believes that Simmons must improve one specific aspect of his game to be one of the greatest ever.

“I’m a big Ben Simmons fan,” Barkley said. “And I want him to do like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. Keep working on his game, become a very good shooter, because if he keeps working on his jump shot, he’s going to be one of the best to ever do it.”

Simmons is already one of the most exciting young stars in the NBA, and undoubtedly one of the most versatile, but his shooting remains a downside of his game. While he possesses height, excellent ball-handling, and great vision, without a good shot, Simmons cannot become one of the best players in NBA history.

We saw in the last year’s playoffs that opponents often ignored him on offense when he was away from the rim. Simmons is trying to make his jumper better so that he is not a one-dimensional player on offense.
