Brandon Clarke posted a double-double of 15 points and 16 boards to lead the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies to a 95-92 win over the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves in the championship game of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

“It was a lot of fun, this is why I do what I do,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “I love to compete, love to teach and have a great group of guys on the court and our staff off the court. It was so much fun to work with them for 20 days. It’s a lot to do in a short amount of time. And to be able to win a championship is fun. I told the guys this morning, when you have a chance to win a championship, there’s nothing like it.”

The Grizzlies led by as many as 17 points but allowed the Wolves to cut the deficit to just two points before Grayson Allen scored 10 of his team-high 17 points in the second half.

Dusty Hannahs and Bruno Caboclo also chipped in with 15 points apiece for the Grizzlies, while Tyler Harvey had 12 points and five dimes. On the other hand, Kelan Martin led the Wolves with a game-high 19 points. Jordan Murphy followed him with 14, Mitchell Creek scored 13, Barry Brown Jr. had 12 while Keita Bates-Diop ended the game with 10 points.

Brandon Clarke was named MVP for the summer league, while Brooklyn’s Jarrett Allen, New Orleans’ Nickeil Alexander-Walker, New York’s Mitchell Robinson, and Miami’s Kendrick Nunn were also selected to the first team of the tournament. Rui Hachimura from Washington headlined the second team along with New Orleans’ Jaxson Hayes, Toronto’s Chris Boucher, San Antonio’s Lonnie Walker IV, and Portland’s Anfernee Simons.
