The NCAA Gymnastics Championships for 2022 Have Been Scheduled

The 2022 NCAA Gymnastics Regional Finals are concluded, and eight teams have qualified for the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth: (1) Oklahoma, (8) Minnesota, (4) Utah, and (5) Alabama will compete in Semifinal I; (2) Florida, (7) Auburn, (3) Michigan, and (11) Missouri will compete in Semifinal II. Michigan, the defending 2021 champions, will continue their quest after capturing the regional championship in Raleigh with a score of 197.800. Missouri qualified for the NCAA tournament with a score of 197.425 over UCLA’s 197.400. For the first time in program history, they progressed to the semifinals. UCLA and Iowa were both knocked out of the NCAA tournament.

Florida and Auburn advanced from the regional finals with respective scores of 198.775 and 197.775. Kentucky gave Auburn a fight for their money, finishing in third place with a score of 197.500. With that score, Florida set a new program record and tied for third all-time.

On Thursday, April 14, two sessions of team semifinals and solo competition will be held at 1 and 6 p.m. ET. The top two teams from each semifinal will progress to Saturday’s championship final at 1 p.m. ET. Both semi-finals and the championship final will be shown live on ESPN2, while the championship final will be broadcast live on ABC.

Michigan will look to defend their title after winning the National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics championship for the first time in 2021. The Wolverines defeated the Oklahoma Sooners by a margin of 0.088. Utah and Florida completed the top four finishers in 2021. Anastasia Webb (Oklahoma) won the all-around; Haleigh Bryant (LSU) and Anastasia Webb (Oklahoma) won the vault; Maya Bordas (California) and Maile O’Keefe (Utah) won the uneven bars; Luisa Blanco (Alabama) won the balancing beam; and Anastasia Webb (Oklahoma), Maile O’Keefe (Utah), and Lexi Graber (Alabama) on floor exercises.
