NCAAF Picks: Ole Miss Travels to Death Valley for SEC West Showdown

NCAAF Picks:  The Ole Miss Rebels are no longer a surprise, but instead a serious national title contender that’s led by a one of the best defenses in the country.  The young LSU Tigers got off the mat last week in impressive fashion to demonstrate that they have plenty of talent that simply lacks experience.

The Tigers will host the Rebels at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night with a kickoff time of 7:15 PM ET.  Coverage is on ESPN.  Ole Miss opened as a three-point favorite.

Rebels with a Cause

Ole Miss is 7-0 straight up, 6-0-1 against the spread, and 1-6 under the total.  Ole Miss destroyed Tennessee last week 34-3 for an easy home payout.  The Rebels haaave the top ranked scoring defense in the country and QB Bo Wallace has a 163 QB rating with a 17-6 TD-INT ratio.

Better than what meets the Eye?

LSU is an impressive 6-2 SU and ATS with a 4-4 mark on totals. The Tigers defense ranks eight for points allowed.  Offense has been the problem for head coach Les Miles’ team as LSU ranks 64th overall and 98th for passing.  The Tigers are coming off their best performance of the year last week in a 41-3 home payout against an improved Kentucky team.

Matchup and Pick
Ole Miss has been an outstanding betting value on the road with 10 payouts out of their last 14 away games.  Ole Miss has gone under the total in 13 out of their last 16 away games.

LSU has shown improved betting value at home recently with four payouts in their last five games at Tiger Stadium.  The Tigers have gone under the total in four out of their last six home games.

Ole Miss has dominated the cashier’s cage in their head to head series with LSU with the Rebels getting the money in 13 out of their last 17 games against the Tigers.  LSU and Ole Miss have gone over the total in four out of their last five meetings.  Ole Miss has covered the spread in their last nine consecutive visits to Tiger Stadium with their last two visits going over the total.  With such a strong head to head mark and strong quarterback advantage we’ll call for Ole Miss.
