NCAAF Selections: Boilers vs. Irish from Indy on NBC Saturday Night!

NCAAF Selections:  The Purdue Boilermakers are in even worse shape than originally expected as years of neglect with recruiting and investing in the program have now caught up with them and as members of the Big Ten Conference, they are in a league that has reached an all-time low in status.  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are a big reason why the Big Ten is hanging its head in shame after their shutout domination of Michigan last week.  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will face the Purdue Boilermakers on NBC Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL Indianapolis Colts, with a starting time on NBC starting at 7:30 PM ET.  BetDSI opened with Notre Dame as a 28.5 point favorite.

Boiler Down

Purdue was dominated at home last week by Central Michigan 38-17 as 3 point favorites to now stand at 1-1 both straight up and against the spread with both of their games going over the total.  The Boilers rank 110th in the nation for scoring defense and 98th for total offense.

Dome Looks Golden

Notre Dame took apart Michigan 31-0 last week to now stand at 2-0 both straight up and against the spread.  The Irish defense looked like the 2012 version as it was superior athletically and exerted its will all game last week,  The Irish rank 9th in the nation for points allowed and QB Everett Golson improved himself significantly during his 2013 suspension.

Matchup and Pick
Purdue has struggled against the odds in games away from home with a mark of just four payouts in their last 14 away games with just seven out of their last 19 away games going under the total.  Notre Dame has had decent board value away from home with six payouts in their last 10 away games with just four out of their last 16 away games going over the total.  Notre Dame has covered the spread in eight out of their last 14 games against Purdue although Purdue has covered the last two meetings in close straight up losses to the Irish.  Just two out of the last eight games between the Boilers and Irish have gone over the total.  We’ll call for Notre Dame and under the total in this one!
