The streaming service announced on Wednesday that the third season of the Netflix series “Quarterback” will follow Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, Joe Flacco of the Cincinnati Bengals, Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cam Ward of the Tennessee Titans. The series is set to premiere on July 14, the report says.
The report says the season will offer multiple storylines and an inside look at the life of an NFL quarterback. Daniels finished his second NFL season after winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2024 and then faced injuries that limited his 2025 season to seven games, the report says.
Per the report, Flacco was traded to Cincinnati from the Cleveland Browns and stepped up after starter Joe Burrow, who was featured on the last season of “Quarterback,” suffered a season-ending injury. The 41-year-old Flacco completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 1,664 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games, started six games for Cincinnati and earned his first career Pro Bowl selection, the report says.
The report says Mayfield began the year as an MVP candidate and helped the Buccaneers to a 6-2 start that included a Week 5 win over the eventual Super Bowl LX champion Seattle Seahawks. A three-game losing streak, a Week 12 shoulder sprain and losing four of the final five games left Tampa Bay at 8-9 and caused the team to miss the postseason for the first time since 2020, the report says.
Ward was selected No. 1 overall by the Titans in 2025, and Tennessee went 3-14 that season to tie with the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals for the worst record in the league, the report says. Ward’s season ended with a shoulder sprain sustained while diving into the end zone for a touchdown on the opening drive in Week 18. Netflix launched the “Quarterback” series in 2023; the report says the documentary previously featured Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota in the opening season, while Cousins returned for year two with Joe Burrow and Jared Goff.
