New Board of Governors members are chosen by the NCAA

On Wednesday, the NCAA selected the nine voting and seven non-voting Board of Governors members who will begin serving on August 1. Members are chosen for a two-year term on this, the organization’s highest governing body.

The new voting members are: Linda Livingstone, president of Baylor University; Jere Morehead, president of the University of Georgia; Steven Shirley, president of Minot State University; Mary-Beth Cooper, president of Springfield College; Beth DeBauche, commissioner of the Ohio Valley Conference; John J. DeGioia, president of Georgetown University; Grant Hill, independent member and co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks; Linda Livingstone, president of Baylor University; Steven Shirley, president of Minot State University; and Army together with an unnamed student-athlete.

Javaune Adams-Gaston, president of Norfolk State University, Mark Emmert, president of the NCAA, Jim Johnson, chair of the Division II Management Council and director of athletics at Pittsburg State University, Shane Lyons, chair of the Division I Council and director of athletics at West Virginia University, Michelle Morgan, chair of the Division III Management Council and director of athletics at John Carroll University, and two student-athletes whose identities have not yet been determined are non-voting ex-officio members.
