The Aggies had a much better free throw rate (0.125 vs. 0.018), while the Cougars had a turnover percentage of 27.2 (above their season average of 20.6). New Mexico State was lifted by Terrell Brown, who was the top scorer from either team with 19 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

The Roadrunners were beaten by the Grand Canyon Antelopes in their last outing, 72-59. Grand Canyon was effective at getting to and converting from the free throw line. This is the second game of the season between these two teams. Brown scored a game-high 19 points in the first matchup, in which the Aggies defeated the Roadrunners 73-62. He also had eight rebounds.
