New York Mets at Atlanta Braves Matchup 04/20/18

The Atlanta Braves are playing host to the New York Mets at SunTrust Park. SportsNet New York will be televising the matchup and the opening pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET.

Oddsmakers are listing New York (-155) as the favorite over Atlanta (+145). The total stands at eight runs and bettors can wager on the over for -120 and the under for +100. Bettors can also wager on the game’s spread with the runline odds sitting at -110 for the Mets -1.5 runs and -110 for the Braves +1.5.

The Braves are 11-7 SU and 12-5 ATS. They’ve gained 6.0 units for moneyline bettors and 7.8 units against the spread (ATS). The Braves are sending lefty Sean Newcomb (1-1, 4.02 ERA) to the mound. Newcomb has 22 punchouts and eight walks to his credit, as well as a 1.53 WHIP. Newcomb made three starts against the team in 2017, compiling a 1-2 record in 2017, putting together a 1-2 record with a 2.70 ERA and 22 strikeouts.

Atlanta’s pitchers have allowed 3.8 runs per game overall in 2018 as a unit. Its starters have an ERA of 3.26, a WHIP of 1.31 and a strikeouts-per-nine of 10.0. Frazier seemed to enjoy hitting lefty pitching on the road in 2017. Over 60 such plate appearances, he put up a slash line of .260/.383/.660 (his overall season line was .214/.345/.425).
