New York Mets – Detroit Tigers Preview – 08.07.2016

Jacob deGrom (7-5, 2.41 ERA) starts for the New York Mets (56-54) as they square off against Anibal Sanchez (6-11, 6.26 ERA) and the Detroit Tigers (61-49) in the last of a three-game series at Comerica Park. The Tigers won the last game 6-5, and Detroit leads the series 2-0. Action begins at 1:10 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 7 and can be seen on FSDT and SNY.

Sanchez pitched 6.0 innings in his most recent start, surrendering one run, striking out two and walking three in an 11-5 win over the White Sox. Miguel Cabrera (.311, 64 Rs, 25 HRs, 74 RBIs) had another good game yesterday, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs. deGrom went 7.0 innings, surrendering zero runs, striking out eight and walking one in a 7-1 win over the Yankees in his last outing. Jay Bruce (.262, 63 Rs, 27 HRs, 84 RBIs, 4 SBs) has been successful at the plate for the Mets, going 2 for 5 yesterday with one run, one home run, and one RBI.

New York takes on Detroit as a -127 favorite. The Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is sitting at eight runs. The Tigers have an overall money line of +1,601 and a record as the underdog of 30-37. Detroit is undefeated as the underdog (5-0) over its last ten and has a record of 9-1 SU.
