New York Yankees – Seattle Mariners Preview – 08.22.2016

Cody Martin (1-2, 3.14 ERA) and Michael Pineda (6-10, 4.89 ERA) are on the hill in the first of a three-game series between the Seattle Mariners (66-57) and the New York Yankees (63-60) at Safeco Field. Action begins at 10:10 p.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 22 and can be seen on YES and RTNW.

Martin pitched 4.1 innings in his last outing, surrendering two runs, striking out two and walking two in a 4-3 win over the Angels. Nelson Cruz (.287, 72 Rs, 31 HRs, 77 RBIs) continued his strong play yesterday, going 2 for 4 with one RBI. Pineda went 5.0 innings, surrendering zero runs and striking out two in a 12-6 defeat to the Blue Jays in his most recent start. Didi Gregorius (.285, 53 Rs, 17 HRs, 56 RBIs, 5 SBs) went 1 for 4 yesterday.

The odds for Seattle and New York are even, while the Over/Under (O/U) is currently not available. It’s been a struggle for opposing teams to score runs against the Mariners.
