Even though it is still May, you can bet on the first week of the NFL regular season right now. Let’s look at Week 1 NFL betting odds.

NFL Betting: You don’t have to wait until September to bet the first week of the NFL. Odds are on the board right now for all of the opening week games. Now that the NFL Draft is past, most of the rosters for NFL teams are pretty well set for the 2014 NFL season. The advantage to betting the games now is that you can oftentimes get more value on certain teams. Let’s look at all of the Week 1 NFL odds available right now.

Week 1 NFL Odds

Thursday, September 4th
Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks (-5.5, total 45)

Sunday, September 7th
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (-1.5, total 51.5)

Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams (-5.5, total 45)

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-5, total 40.5)

Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles (-11, total 51.5)

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets (-4.5, total 39.5)

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-2.5, total 43)

Buffalo Bills at Chicago Bears (-6, total 48.5)

Washington Redskins at Houston Texans (-2.5, total 46)

Tennessee Titans at Kansas City Chiefs (-6, total 44)

New England Patriots (-3.5, total 47) at Miami Dolphins

Carolina Panthers (-2, total 39.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5, total 48) at Dallas Cowboys

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos (-6, total 55)

Monday, September 8th
New York Giants at Detroit Lions (-4, total 45.5)

San Diego Chargers at Arizona Cardinals (-3.5, total 44)

The home teams are getting a lot of respect in Week 1 as there are only three road favorites. And two of the road favorites are no surprise as the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers are two of the top choices in Super Bowl odds. The other road favorite is the Carolina Panthers and they could be overvalued. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new head coach in Lovie Smith, a new quarterback in Josh McCown and a vastly improved defense. It would not be a surprise to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers end up as the favorite come September so you may want to take the points now.
