NFL Fantasy: Best Values For DFS For Week 3

NFL Fantasy

Through the first two weeks of the season, the big money players have been anything but spectacular. In Week 1 bargain quarterbacks such as Alex Smith and Sam Bradford were lighting up the NFL. Week 2 saw much of the same, as some of the best fantasy players were low-cost options like Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian and Washington Redskins running back Chris Thompson. For Week 3 of the NFL season, these players look like the best value picks for your DFS lineup. Pair these players with top dollar guys like Antonio Brown and Devonta Freeman for the best DFS lineup.

Quarterback: Matthew Stafford – $6200

Coming in this week as the tenth most expensive quarterback, Matthew Stafford is a good value for the cost as he has top-three upside this week against the Atlanta Falcons. Stafford did not have to do much last week against the Giants, but this game should see much more offense. Stafford averages 317 yards passing against the Falcons in his career. Going back to the beginning of 2017, Stafford has 17 touchdowns to just five interceptions at home. With the Falcons best pass-rusher sidelined for this game, putting Stafford in your lineup this weekend is a smart decision. This contest looks like it will be a shootout and you’ll want to get a piece of that action.

Running Back: Derrick Henry – $5300

With the health of running back DeMarco Murray questionable, the bulk of the carries for the Tennessee Titans should go to Derrick Henry in Week 3. Henry had his best game as a pro last week against Jacksonville, picking up a career-high 92 rushing yards while scoring his first touchdown of 2017. The Titans play the Seattle Seahawks this weekend and will likely lean heavily on the run game to avoid Seattle’s dangerous secondary. If Murray is completely ruled out this week, Henry will be the lead running back for Tennessee and could be in for his first 100-yard rushing game of his young career.

Wide Receiver: Kenny Stills – $4400

Kenny Stills has been a boom or bust type of player against the New York Jets since joining the Miami Dolphins in 2015. In his best two games, Stills had a touchdown reception longer than 40 yards. In his other two, the receiver has combined for three receptions for 23 yards total. Stills is a good value option this week as he only needs one catch to get you double-digit fantasy, plus at his current price, it is easy to get a higher end wide receiver such as Antonio Brown or Julio Jones into your DFS lineup.

Tight End: Benjamin Watson – $3700

Coming off a great Week 2, Benjamin Watson is poised for another strong performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watson had eight receptions in Week 2, helping him total 17.1 fantasy points in a Draftkings fantasy contest. Last week, Delanie Walker had 16.2 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars, although 6.1 of his points did come from a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Remember that the Ravens lost Danny Woodhead for a while, so Joe Flacco is looking for new safety valves and it looks like Watson will be one of those guys. He should see a nice number of targets in Week 3, and for his value, he is one of the best tight ends in DFS.

Flex: Jacquizz Rodgers – $4600

For the flex spot this week, Jacquizz Rodgers is an excellent value. Rodgers has the starting job locked up as long as Doug Martin is suspended, which means he’ll be the top dog once again this week. Looking at each game since the beginning of 2016 where Rodgers had at least 15 touches, the Tampa Bay running back has been quietly productive in DFS. Rodgers is averaging 14.5 points in Draftkings scoring when he handles the ball at least 15 times. The Bucs are in a bit of a tight spot against the Minnesota Vikings – a team with a relatively good run defense – but keep in mind that they won’t be as effective if the Sam Bradford-less offense hangs them out to dry again.

Rodgers should get the bulk of the carries in Week 3, making him a great value pick for you DFS lineup this week.
