NFL Fantasy: DFS Value For Week 15

Jay Ajayi

For those of you no longer in the fantasy playoffs, it is time to turn your attention to DFS football.  Focusing on the 12 games on Sunday and the Monday night game, these four players offer great value for their position on DraftKings in Week 15. Get these players in your DFS lineup, to help save cap space for NFL fantasy studs like Antonio Brown and Alvin Kamara.

QB – Joe Flacco $5100

Joe Flacco is coming off his best two-week fantasy stretch of 2017.  Over the last two games, Flacco scored a combined 36.44. Those games came against quality defenses (the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers). This week Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens face the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are a horrendous defense. They allowed Brett Hundley to pass for 265 yards and three touchdowns in Week 14.

Flacco played the Browns in Week 2. The results were Flacco’s third-highest scoring fantasy game of the season (behind the last two weeks). In his career against the Browns, Flacco has averaged 225.1 passing yards per game and has a 26-12 touchdown to interception ratio. His yards per game average climbs to 259 per game when looking at his stats from 2014 to now. For the price and matchup, Flacco is a good value start with the potential to exceed 20 fantasy points in Week 15. He’s been hot of late.

RB – Jay Ajayi $5000

With the injury to Carson Wentz, the Philadelphia Eagles will likely change up their offensive scheme. The scheme, which will see a higher percentage of running plays, will benefit Jay Ajayi and the rest of the Eagles running backs.  Ajayi had his first double-digit carry game as an Eagle last week, finishing the game with 78 yards and should continue to have a large role in Philly’s offense for the rest of the season.

Jay Ajayi and the Eagles play the New York Giants in Week 15. The Giants own a bottom ten rushing defense and give up the eighth-most receiving yards to running backs this season.  On top of that, think about the motivation. The Giants have essentially quit on the season. The Eagles have far more to play for. Ajayi should see a greater number of carries in Week 15, plus he could see extra targets as a check down option for Nick Foles, when the Eagles run play action. Ajay could have his first 100-yard rushing game as an Eagle this week, making him a great value at $5000. Look for the Eagles to rely on him as a bell-cow more so than the usual rotation where LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement vulture a number of touches.

WR – Randall Cobb $4900

With Aaron Rodgers returning to the Green Bay Packers, their offense should see a huge boost in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers.  One of the players who should benefit from the return of Rodgers is Randall Cobb. Cobb’s production without Rodgers has been underwhelming. He has one receiving touchdown and has not surpassed 60 yards receiving since Rodgers went down with an injury in Week 5.

The Carolina Panthers are in the bottom third of the league, allowing wide receivers to catch 12.31 passes per game. The 14 touchdowns are tied for seventh most this season. Outside of Rodgers having a little rust, all signs point towards a good performance from Randall Cobb.

TE – Charles Clay $3000

Although he is listed as questionable on the injury report, if he can play then Clay Charles is a great value at $3000. Charles Clay faces his old team, the Miami Dolphins, in Week 15. The Dolphins are a bottom three team in Draft Kings against tight ends this season. The Dolphins give up the second most receptions to tight ends at 5.46 per game, which is the largest factor in their low ranking on DraftKings.

In Clay’s last start against Miami, which came in Buffalo last December, Clay caught eight passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. The Bills hope to have Tyrod Taylor back at quarterback this week, which will also help Clay’s production. Look for Clay to catch plenty of passes and have a big game in Week 15.
