NFL News: Monday Night Football Black Cat Wins America’s Heart

Just when you think you have seen it all in a football game, a black cat enters. Indeed, that’s what happened on Monday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.

Furthermore, if you were living under a bridge and somehow missed this landmark event in football history; we have video footage for you of what happened.

The Giants led 9-3 and were driving for another score when out of nowhere, the cat appeared in the middle of the field.

Here’s an official account from USA Today:

With 5:32 left to play in the first half, the cat ran onto the field and looked as if it was scared and confused by the lights and the noise of the crowd. The fans, seeing the cat, started to cheer as it tried to find a way out.

Officials blew their whistles in the middle of a New York Giant offensive drive, and called for play to be halted. Security personnel working the game and New Jersey state troopers all tried to corral the cat, as it tried to find a quieter place.

Finally, the cat scampered into the locker room and hit the showers. The Giants’ drive ended in a field goal to put them ahead 12-3, as the crowd tried to calm itself from the cat happenings.

While this was one of the biggest feline appearances in the sports world in the long time, it was perhaps not the biggest. Moreover, we have that for you too.

I remember seeing this clip when I was a kid (about 35 years ago as the video states), and a much smaller cat than the predator that lurked on Monday Night Football interrupted a baseball game. The squirrel looking animal put a hurting on the groundkeeper that tried to wrangle it.

Tonight’s cat was much less interested in doing harm, but just as interested in making his presence felt.
