NFL News: Terrelle Pryor in Critical Condition After Being Stabbed

NFL

UPDATE Nov. 30, 3:07 p.m: Pryor is now in stable condition, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He has been arrested and charged with simple assault.

The woman who stabbed him has been identified as 24-year-old Shalaya Briston. She is facing charges of criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

Terrelle Pryor is reportedly in critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery from a stabbing on Friday night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.

Per Schefter, Pryor was stabbed in the shoulder and chest at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in Pittsburgh.

The suspect, an unidentified woman, is currently in police custody according to reports.

Pryor has been a free agent this season since he cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars in September. He entered the league as a QB out of Ohio State and was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 Supplemental Draft.

Following his stint in Oakland, he switched positions to wide receiver, where he had a breakout season for the Cleveland Browns in 2016 in which he caught 77 passes for 1,007 yards. Pryor has since had stints with the Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets.

Pryor, 30, has shown flashes of his potential as a receiving threat after his 2016 season. He has the size, speed, and athleticism that teams look for.

One can hope that this stabbing doesn’t deter any teams from picking up the phone and calling him, but that remains to be seen for now. More importantly, the primary focus is on a full recovery for Pryor.
