NFL Picks: Broncos vs. Seahawks in Super Bowl Rematch Sunday on CBS!

NFL picks:  Not long ago the Seattle Seahawks destroyed the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. The game was fodder for all of Denver QB Peyton Manning’s critics and his less than stellar record in the playoffs and in cold weather.  But when it comes to regular season games that are played in above freezing conditions Manning is as dangerous and proven of a QB as there has ever been.

In a rematch of last February’s Super Bowl the Seattle Seahawks will host the Denver Broncos at CenturyLink Field on Sunday with coverage on CBS starting at 4:25 PM ET.  Seattle opened at BetDSI as a five point favorite with a total of 48.5.

Bronco Busting Bankrolls with Overlays

Denver is 2-0 straight up but 0-2 against the spread with a 1-1 mark on totals.  The Broncos barely escaped with a 24-17 win over an injury depleted Kansas City tea as 13 point home chalks last week.  The Denver defense that was so totally exposed in their Super Bowl loss last February ranks a poor 27th overall in the NFL.

Peaking Ahead?

Seattle is coming off a 31-20 loss at San Diego last week which begs the question as to whether or not they were looking ahead to Denver.  The Seahawks were lit up for 284 yards passing and three TD passes by Philip Rivers.  The Seahawks are 1-1 SU and ATS and 2-0 over the total.

Matchup and Pick

Denver has covered the spread in six out of their last ten games with Seattle as seven out of the last nine games between the Broncos and Seahawks have gone over the total.  Denver has been a good board value at Seattle with seven payouts in their last ten visits as four out of the last seven meetings between the Seahawks and Broncos at Seattle have gone over the total.  However Denver is 1-4 ATS after a straight up win and Seattle is a dangerous 5-1 ATS after a SU loss.  We expect an angry Seattle team and the loudest crowd in the NFL to give the Broncos all that they can handle, especially with that suspect Bronco defense and poor betting value.  Seattle gets the call.
