NHL Picks: Sunday’s action includes Maple Leafs at Rangers

NHL Betting Odds: The New York Rangers host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday in a game that can be seen on NHL Network. It will be the home opener for the Rangers but that is about the only positive for New York as they will be playing their third game in four days to start the season as they were in St. Louis on Thursday and in Columbus on Saturday.   Here is at this contest and also a look at the game between Winnipeg and Los Angeles.

Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers (NHL Network)

The situation for the Rangers is not a good one as they play their third game in four days but what does help them a little is that the Leafs are in a back-to-back as they played at home against Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Rangers have won six of the last ten in this series with six of the last ten going over the total. The Rangers have taken six of the last ten at home in this series. It used to be that the games in New York in this series were high scoring as seven straight had gone over but then the teams played to a 3-2 decision last April and they played 2-1 and 3-2 games last season.

Winnipeg Jets at Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are going to be favored at home but this has not been an easy series for the Kings. They have dropped six of the last ten against Winnipeg. The teams met three times last season with the Jets winning 5-3 at home while the Kings won 3-1 in Winnipeg and 4-2 at home. It has been pretty much a home team series with the Kings winning five of the last six in Los Angeles. Three of the last four meetings in L.A. have gone over. Every team in the NHL played on Saturday so this is a back-to-back for both clubs. The situation is tougher for the Jets though as they will be playing their third game in four days.
