NHL Picks: Wild at Canadiens Featured Game on Saturday

NHL Picks: NHL Network will be televising the game between the Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. Both teams got off to hot starts this season winning 7 of their first 10 games so this should be an excellent matchup on Saturday. It is a busy Saturday in the NHL with 12 games on the schedule. Let’s take a look at the games and NHL predictions.

Minnesota at Montreal (NHL Network)

The Canadiens have won six of the last ten meetings in this series but the better bet has been the over as 8 of the last 10 have gone over. The teams met twice last season with the Wild winning 4-3 in Minnesota and the Canadiens winning 6-2 in Montreal. Both games went over the total. The Wild have not played nearly as well on the road as they have at home as they were just 2-3 before Thursday’s game in Ottawa.

The Wild had been leading the league in fewest goals allowed and they were also in the top ten in goals scored. The Canadiens were 4-1 at home heading into this week’s action. When they won games they were almost always one goal decisions while they were blown out in their losses. Montreal has won four of the last six at home in this series with four of the last five going over. We’ll ride the trend in this one and take this game on Saturday over the NHL betting total.

More Saturday NHL Picks

Calgary at Florida – The Flames have been a nice surprise and they could pick up another road win in this matinee.

Pittsburgh at Buffalo – The Penguins have too much offense for the Sabres so we’ll back the road team.

NY Rangers at Toronto – The Rangers should have a good chance to win this one on the road at plus money.

Winnipeg at Ottawa – The Jets have been a major surprise but winning in Ottawa won’t be easy. We’ll back the home team.
