Nikola Jovic was expelled for becoming involved in a fight

Serbian Nikola Jovic received suspensions and penalties from the NBA following the opening match of the 2022–23 NBA Regular Season. He was given a one-game suspension by the NBA for getting out of the bench and becoming involved in the altercation. Caleb Martin was suspended for the fights between the players, while Christian Koloko received a fine.

 

The following is from the press release: “Today, Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations, announced that Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin has been suspended for one game without pay for starting an altercation on the court by taunting Toronto Raptors center Christian Koloko and then tackling him into the stands. Koloko has also been fined $15,000 for grabbing Martin during the altercation. As a result of leaving the bench area and becoming involved in the confrontation, Heat forward Nikola Jovic has also been given a one-game suspension without pay.”
