The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Invade Chicagoland Speedway for this Weekend's NASCAR Events.

Nickelodeon divulged this year that it will be the sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Sept. 18th at Chicagoland Speedway. The race is officially called the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400.

One of NASCAR’s most beloved drivers Danica Patrick, has agreed to race a special car for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400. The event at Chicagoland speedway will be televised on NBC Sports Network at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Furthermore, the weekend will feature all kinds of activities that will involve the whole family. Adults and children alike, will get the chance to spend some time with the iconic Heroes in a Half Shell.

Danica Patrick is from Illinois and was excited to help promote the Nickelodeon partnership in true Ninja Turtle style. She recently showed off  her #10 AprilO’Neil/Nature’s Bakery Chevrolet at Wrigley Square in Millennium Park.

The Half-Shelled Heroes then cruised the racer’s car up Michigan Ave. Danica Patrick is just one of a number of competitors that will sport their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles paint schemes for the September race.

“It’s great to be back in my home state of Illinois. Also to be a part of this exciting announcement for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400,” said Patrick. The Nickelodeon-sponsored races are also really coo. Because they are fun for the entire family. Nature’s Bakery and Nickelodeon have put together an awesome paint scheme. Furthermore, I can’t wait to have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and April O’Neil riding along with me in September.”

The uniquely designed hot-rod was crafted by Chicago artist Hebru Brantley. Brantley is also going to design the trophy for the winning driver. The talented artist will also design other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cars for the 400 lap race. Brantley is known for breaking down cultural barriers through his art. His work is influenced by his 1980’s Chicago upbringing.

The unique talent probes uncomfortable subjects in a way that makes them more understandable to the viewer. Hebru Brantley’s work tells stories through youthful characters. He uses pop art that is inspired by Japanese anime and mixes it with old-school street art pioneers.

The event is the sixth straight year that Chicagoland Speedway kicks off the Chase for the title. The union will also include sponsorship of the race in 2017.

“We are thrilled to partner with a world class brand like Nickelodeon. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 is on Sept. 18th,” said Scott Paddock. Paddock is the Chicagoland Speedway President. “This is also a cool way for us to partner with one of the youth focused brands on the planet. It also helps to deliver a high level of family entertainment. We will be engaging Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans of all ages.”

Nickelodeon is also a sponsor for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race this weekend. The venue will feature a weekend of action. There will also be activities for kids with the iconic Heroes in a Half Shell.

Xfinity Series speedster Daniel Suárez, has signed on to drive a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle paint schemed car. The Mexican born racer will drive it in the race at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday.

The Joe Gibbs Racing phenom is competing in his second year in the Xfinity Series. He will drive the #19 ARRIS/TMNT Michelangelo Toyota. The orange-masked super hero will also take on the Foot Clan with his signature nun-chucks.

Daniel Suarez’ hopes that the extra mojo can help him repeat his performance at Michigan Speedway. Suarez’ drove his Arris Camry into the Winner’s Circle in that event.

Darrell Wallace will match-up against Daniel Suarez’ in his #6 Shredder Ford Mustang. The battle will go down as #TeamTurtle versus #TeamFoot. It’s going to take place in the Xfinity Series race on Saturday.
