NIT championships will be held in Las Vegas and Indianapolis in 2023 and 2024, respectively

The semifinals and championship of the National Invitation Tournament will be held in Las Vegas in 2023, and the event will be held in Indianapolis in 2024. Following an extensive nationwide proposal process in the spring, the two host cities were chosen. The 2023 semifinals and championship match will be held at Orleans Arena on March 28 and 30, both times being hosted by UNLV. Butler will host the games in 2024, which will take place between April 2 and 4 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The first round, second round, and quarterfinals of the NIT will all be held on college campuses with a 32-team field. The 2023 NIT will only seed the top 16 teams (top four teams in each pod) for the second consecutive year, while the remaining 16 teams will be placed into the bracket geographically wherever possible. In addition, former men’s basketball head coaches Bob McKillop, Gary Waters, and Rick Byrd were chosen by the NIT board to serve on the committee. One of the most successful college basketball coaches is Byrd.
