The North Florida Ospreys (9-11, 3-2 Asun) will attempt to extend their five-game home winning streak in a matchup against the NJIT Highlanders (14-5, 2-2 Asun) at UNF Arena. The game is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, January 21, 2019.

NJIT Highlanders at North Florida Ospreys ATS Prediction

The Highlanders come in on a high note after barely hanging on to beat the Jacksonville Dolphins in their last outing, 77-74. The Highlanders knocked down 19 of their 24 free throws (79.2 percent), while the Dolphins had a turnover percentage of 20.1 (above the 16.8 mark opponents have averaged against NJIT this season). NJIT was lifted by Abdul Lewis, who finished with 19 points, 21 rebounds and five assists.

In the Ospreys’ last matchup, they fell to the Liberty Flames, 70-64. Liberty’s 11.8 turnover percentage was their biggest advantage over North Florida, who had a mark of 22.3. The Flames’ mark was better than their season average of 15.5. With 19 points on 5-for-12 shooting, Ivan Gandia-Rosa was the top scorer from either team.

The offense of North Florida (229th in the country with an offensive efficiency of 103.2) will clash against the elite defense of NJIT (58th in the NCAA with a defensive efficiency of 95.5). The Highlanders figure to have the advantage on that side of the ball.

After the Ospreys won two out of three games against the Highlanders last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the most recent contest, North Florida won 80-76. North Florida did a fantastic job of getting to and converting from the free throw line (26-33; 78.8 percent). NJIT, meanwhile, had a much better turnover percentage (12.2 vs. 21.7).
