Northwestern Wildcats at Michigan State Spartans ATS Prediction

The Wildcats come in on a high note after dismantling the New Orleans Privateers in their last outing, 82-52. The Wildcats had a much better turnover percentage (11.2 vs. 20.4) and had a much better free throw rate (0.350 vs. 0.204). Northwestern was lifted by Vic Law, who finished with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The last time the Spartans played, they fell to the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks, 92-87. Kansas’ 11.6 turnover percentage was their largest strength over Michigan State, who had a mark of 19.5. Michigan State’s Kenny Goins finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the contest.

After the Spartans won the only contest against the Wildcats last season, 65-60, these teams will clash for the first time this year. The Spartans made 17 of their 21 free throws (81.0 percent) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (30.8 vs. 22.9).

Both teams have had a player take their game to the next level over their last five games. Law (0 points) has been stellar for the Wildcats while Cassius Winston (0 points) has contributed greatly to the Spartans.

The game should be a showdown of strength against strength as the prolific offense of Michigan State takes on the top-notch defense of Northwestern. The Spartans rank sixth in offensive efficiency, while the Wildcats are 29th in defensive efficiency.
