Photo from WWE.com

Tonight, NXT continues to fill in a lot of action-packed content into an hour-long episode. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch team up for the first time, the last woman in the NXT Women’s Championship match is determined in a battle royal, and Roderick Strong takes on Andrade “Cien” Almas in the main event.

Announcement
Next week, The Authors of Pain will have their contractually obligated rematch for the NXT Tag Team Championships against SAnitY. Whichever member of SAnitY not competing will be banned from ringside.

Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss
For weeks, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan competed in a series of matches that progressively got harder hitting and more aggressive. Throughout the series, their competitive spirit led to mutual respect. After finding a common enemy in Lars Sullivan, they compete as a team for the first time. Their opponents, Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss, both competed in singles matches against former NXT Tag Team Champion Johnny Gargano and they both lost.

Lorcan and Burch continue hitting as hard as possible, but it seems like the team of Sabbatelli and Moss is greater than the sum of its parts. After Moss throws Lorcan into the corner, they work together for a Gory Bomb/Running Bulldog combination, picking up the surprise victory. Winners: Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss

NXT Women’s Championship Fatal Four-Way Match Qualifying Battle Royal
At NXT TakeOver: War Games, there will be a Fatal Four-Way Match to determine who will hold the currently vacated NXT Women’s Championship. Kairi Sane was the first participant announced after winning the Mae Young Classic, and Peyton Royce defeated Liv Morgan and Ruby Riot to qualify. Ember Moon would defeat Nikki Cross and Sonya Deville to become the third woman in the match but thanks to Taynara Conti’s interference, Cross gets a second chance tonight.

Elimination Order: Taynara Conti, Rhea Ripley, Zeda, Dakota Kai, Aliyah, Vanessa Borne, Sage Beckett, Santana Garrett, Abbey Laith, Sarah Logan, Lacey Evans, Candice LeRae, Mercedes Martinez, Bianca Belair, Billie Kay

After Billie Kay prematurely celebrates a victory, Nikki Cross takes advantage and throws half of the Iconic Duo over the top rope to redeem her embarrassing loss and to become the last woman to qualify. After the match, all four participants stand in the ring while General Manager William Regal holds the vacated Women’s Championship. Winner: Nikki Cross

Aleister Black vs. Nobody
As Aleister Black heads to the ring expecting a match, Velveteen Dream appears behind him and starts an assault. Dream ties Black up and tries to get Black to say his name, but Black escapes and sends Dream reeling after barely missing the Black Mass spinning back kick.

Roderick Strong vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas (w/Zelina Vega)
According to Zelina Vega, Andrade “Cien” Almas is pursuing an NXT Championship match against Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says that he will fight anyone, anytime, but all Almas needs to do is to address him himself. Until then, Almas is just trying to build momentum in the main event against Roderick Strong. Strong has had three different chances at the NXT Championship and has failed every time. Two of those matches were against Bobby Roode, with the most recent being against McIntyre.

After Strong throws Almas into the ring from ringside, the referee has his attention on the former La Sombra. While the referee is distracted, Zelina Vega jumps off of the apron and hits Strong with a hurricanrana, sending him into the steel steps. Almas then takes advantage to set up for the Hammerlock DDT, picking up a much-needed victory on his way to championship gold. Winner: Andrade “Cien” Almas

Next week, Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega will meet NXT Champion Drew McIntyre face-to-face.

After the match, Roderick Strong is recovering in the ring when Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly) approach the ring. They offer him an armband, signifying that they want him (another former Ring of Honor talent) to join them.
