Oakland Raiders at Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview

In this Sunday AFC game, Baltimore is tabbed as the big favorite and is currently giving up 11 points. In order to take the home favorite, moneyline bettors would currently need to put down $500 to win $100 back on the Ravens (-500). The Raiders are getting +340 moneyline odds. Oddsmakers have determined the over/under (O/U) to be 43 points. There should be some decent live betting opportunities for this matchup.

With the spread opening at -11 and the total placed initially at 42.5, this matchup’s betting odds have shifted a hair.

The underwhelming Raiders are 3-7 against the spread (ATS) and have lost 5.5 units this season. They’ve been a decent under bet and have posted an O/U record of 4-6. The Ravens have lost 1.6 units in 2018. The team is 4-6 ATS and also owns an O/U record of 4-6.

The Raiders are 2-8 straight up (SU) in 2018 while the Ravens are 5-5 SU.

The Raiders enter after a 23-21 victory over Arizona last week. Derek Carr completed 19 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. DeAndre Washington (just 39 yards on 12 rush attempts) and Jalen Richard (61 yards on 11 carries) provided the running attack in the win while Marcell Ateman (four receptions, 50 yards) and Seth Roberts (four catches, 38 yards) handled the receiving duties.

Baltimore just earned a 24-21 win over Cincinnati in Week 11. The defensive unit held its ground in the victory, holding the Bengals to only 211 passing yards and 48 yards on the ground. Tyler Boyd was a bright spot in the defeat, posting 71 yards on four catches for Cincinnati. For Baltimore, Lamar Jackson completed 13-of-19 passes for 150 yards and one interception. Jackson (117 rushing yards on 27 attempts) and Gus Edwards (115 yards on 17 carries, one TD) mounted the ground game in the win as Willie Snead IV (five receptions, 51 yards) and Nick Boyle (four catches, 36 yards) led the pass-catching corps.

Each of these squads has a strikingly similar (60-40 pass-to-run ratio on the season. The Raiders have produced 103 rush yards/game and have four touchdowns via handoffs this year. The Ravens are totaling 110 rushing yards per game and have 13 total rush TDs.

It seems like the Ravens might be the more disruptive team in the trenches. Their offensive line has allowed just 19 sacks while their D-line has logged 29 sacks. The Raiders O-line has given up 33 sacks and their defense has got to opposing signal-callerss just nine times.

The Raiders offense has averaged 264 yards in the air overall and has 12 passing scores so far. The Ravens have produced 270 pass yards per outing and have 13 total pass TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, Oakland has allowed 142 rush yards and 251 pass yards per game. The Baltimore defense has allowed 223.5 yards per game to opposing passers and 94.6 yards per game on the ground. The Ravens are allowing an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of only 5.44 to opposing QBs, while the Raiders have given up an ugly 8.99 ANY/A.

Offensively, Carr is up to 2,390 passing yards this season, and has completed 71 percent of his 313 attempts with 12 passing scores and eight interceptions. Carr’s got a 6.22 adjusted net yards per pass attempt, including 5.47 over the last two games.
