OHL Classic Fantasy Lineup

The PGA Tour heads to Playa del Carmen, Mexico this week for a nice break from everything that is happening in the United States with the OHL Classic at Mayakoba set to take place at the El Cameleon Golf Club. We took the time to break down this year’s field in order to help you build a winning fantasy roster. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings PGA fantasy tournaments.

Chris Kirk, $9,600

Kirk will be making his first appearance at Mayakoba but it shouldn’t take him long to figure things out as he looks to carry over his red-hot play following an excellent stretch. Kirk has recorded three top-10 finishes in a row including at the Shriners Hospital for Children Open last week and it won’t surprise anybody if he registers another this week. When you consider his recent form and his relatively low price tag in a field that appears to be wide open he looks even better as a smart choice to slot in at the top of our lineup.

Harris English, $9,500

English won this event back in 2013 when he set a tournament record with a 21-under 263. Now he will look to rediscover that magic while carrying over a strong run in which he has survived 13 consecutive cuts including a T-4 that he recorded at last week’s Shriners Hospital for Children Open. English is available at a very reasonable price considering his course history and overall form so count on him as a strong pick that should be a lock in most fantasy lineups for this week.

Martin Laird, $8,700

Laird has been very consistent over the past few months including five top-25 finishes in his last 10 starts overall. Although he only finished 27th at the Shriners event last week, he did place in a tie for eighth at the Safeway Open in October. He’s already earned more than $200,000 in winnings so far this season and that’s just through two events.

He has the potential to thrive at this course as a tee-to-green specialist and after decent outings at Silverado and at TPC Summerlin we have no doubts that he is worth taking a chance on in DraftKings competitions for the OHL Classic. We’ll be looking for him to finish in the Top 25 and hopefully push for a Top 10.

Ryo Ishikawa, $7,400

Ishikawa was absolutely on fire before he missed the cut on the number at TPC Summerlin and we are among those that are counting on him bouncing back with a strong performance this week. Ishikawa will be making his first appearance at Mayakoba but he has a top-10 result at the CIMB Classic and he should be motivated to produce a strong performance once again this week as a strong sleeper choice.

Shawn Stefani, $7,300

Stefani is an intriguing sleeper pick for this week since he was a runner-up at this tournament back in 2014 and then registered another top-25 finish here a year ago. Stefani has recorded three top-15 finishes over his last six starts overall. That includes a tie for 10th at the Shriners where he finished with a -14. The combination of his strong play and recent course form make him an intriguing play for this week’s tournaments.

Kyle Stanley, $7,200

With $7.5K left over to address the final position on our DraftKings roster, we will bank on Stanley as the perfect fit in terms of price tag and upside. Stanley won’t be on the radar of many players but he closed out last season with a pair of top-25 finishes at the John Deere Classic and Wyndham and then recorded another two top-25 finishes at Silverado and TPC Summerlin to start this season. He’s coming off a tied for seventh at the Shriners, so he is riding in with some momentum. Stanley ranks fifth in proximity and first in scrambling early on so the upside is there for a sleeper pick that could really pay off in this week’s DraftKings competitions. We don’t him to necessarily win the event but hopefully he makes the cut and proves to be competitive.
