Oklahoma City Thunder at Detroit Pistons Betting Prediction

The Thunder come in on a high note after covering the 13-point spread against the Atlanta Hawks in their last contest, 124-109. The total points for the game (233) came in over the projected point total of 228.5. Making free throws was one of Oklahoma City’s biggest strengths. They were 14-15 (93.3 percent), while the Hawks were just 12-20 (60.0 percent). Oklahoma City was led by Russell Westbrook, who was the game’s high scorer with 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting.

The last time the Pistons took the floor, they were victorious over the Golden State Warriors, 111-102, despite being 4-point underdogs. The game’s total points (213) were well under the projected point total of 229. The Pistons, who came into the game averaging an offensive rebounding percentage of 26.4, had a great mark of 28.0 and had a turnover percentage of 9.3 (better than their season average of 11.8). With 16 points and 19 rebounds, Andre Drummond put together a solid game for Detroit.

After splitting two games last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the last game, the Thunder won 121-108. The Thunder’s 8.0 turnover percentage was their biggest advantage over the Pistons, who had a mark of 14.5.

Oklahoma City heads into the game with records of 14-7 straight up (SU) and 13-8 against the spread (ATS). Matchups including the Thunder have a tendency to go under the total (57.1 percent).

Meanwhile, Detroit is 13-7 SU and 12-8 ATS. Contrary to Oklahoma City, Pistons games tend to go over the total (55.0 percent).

Reggie Jackson has averaged 18 points,4.2 assists,1.4 steals over the last five games for Detroit.

The offense of Detroit (17th in the league with an offensive efficiency of 106.5) will battle against the elite defense of Oklahoma City (first in the league with a defensive efficiency of 100.5). The Thunder should have the edge on that end of the court. Also, the Thunder are among the league’s best on the offensive backboards, ranking first in offensive rebounding percentage (27.8 percent). The Pistons, however, rank second at corralling defensive rebounds with a defensive rebounding percentage of 79.9 percent.
