Ottawa Senators vs. Arizona Coyotes Odds

Arizona (-190) is currently the favorite over Ottawa (+165) and the Over/Under (O/U) has been set at 6 goals (-125 over, +105 under).

Arizona is 5-5 straight up (SU) and has netted moneyline bettors 0.7 units this year. That early-season winning percentage is a welcomed improvement compared to what the team managed during the 2017-18 season (29-53). Out of its 10 regular season outings, seven of them have gone under the total, while two have gone over and just one has pushed. The team is 2-2 SU at home thus far.

The Coyotes have converted on just 10.3 percent of their power play chances this season, a figure that’s ranked 30th overall in the NHL. On the other hand, their penalty kill is rated fourth overall, and they’ve successfully killed off 89.3 percent of all penalties.

As a collective unit, the Coyotes have been penalized 3.8 times per game this season. Last year, they posted the fifth-lowest mark in the league with 3.3 penalties per game. After serving an average of 7.8 penalty minutes per game a season ago the team’s had to stave off opponent power plays for 8.4 minutes per matchup this year.

Boasting a .921 save percentage and 24.9 saves per game, Antti Raanta (3-4) has been the most dependable goalkeeper for the Coyotes this year. If head coach Rick Tocchet decides to give him a rest, however, the team might roll with Darcy Kuemper (2-1-1 record, .957 save percentage, 1.34 goals against average).

Clayton Keller and Vinnie Hinostroza will both be offensive focal points for the Coyotes. Keller (seven points) is up to five goals and two assists and has recorded two or more points two times this year. Hinostroza has three goals and three assists to his credit and has notched a point in three games.

Ottawa is 4-6 straight up (SU) and has earned moneyline bettors 0.3 units this season. A total of seven of its matches have gone over the total, while two have gone under the total and just one has pushed. As the visiting team so far, the Senators are 1-3 SU.

The Senators have converted on 25.8 percent of their power play opportunities this season, a figure that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill unit is ranked 28th overall and it’s successfully defended 69.4 percent of all opponent power plays.

Ottawa’s players have been penalized 4.4 times per game this season, a number that’s risen some from the 3.5 penalties per game given up last year. After serving an average of 8.1 penalty minutes per game a year ago, the team’s had to kill penalties for 10.7 minutes per matchup this season.

Craig Anderson (.908 save percentage and 3.54 goals against average) has been the primary option in goal for Ottawa. Anderson is averaging 35.1 saves per game and has four wins, five losses, and two OT losses to his credit.

For the visiting Senators, the offense will be coordinated by Thomas Chabot (three goals, 10 assists) and Matt Duchene (four goals, seven assists).
