Penn Quakers at George Mason Patriots Betting Prediction

Penn went 24-8 in the regular season last season, which earned them a 16 seed in the tournament. They were defeated in the First Round by the Kansas Jayhawks. Meanwhile, George Mason did not make the tournament following a 16-17 regular season.

The Quakers had an excellent 24-8 straight up (SU) record last season, but were just 10-13-1 against the spread (ATS). Of Penn’s 24 games that accepted bets last season, 14 finished under the projected point total.

Meanwhile, the Patriots owned records of 16-17 SU and 16-13-1 ATS last season. Vegas had a tendency to set the total a bit low when George Mason is involved last year, as 63.3 percent of their games ended over the O/U total.

The ineffective offense of George Mason will square off against the top-notch defense of Penn. In the 2017-18 season, the Patriots ranked 256th in offensive efficiency, while the Quakers were 17th in defensive efficiency. The Quakers should have the advantage on that side of the ball. Moreover, the Quakers ranked 52nd in turnover percentage (16.7 percent), while the Patriots ranked 313th in opponents’ turnover percentage (16.2 percent).
