PGA Fantasy: The Masters Daily Fantasy Lineup

The 2017 Masters has finally arrived. The best in the world will make the trip to Augusta National this week for the first major tournament of the season. The anticipation for the Masters is unmatched in the sport and with so much talent competing in a high-pressure environment it is sure to be a spectacle once again. We broke down the talent, potential and price tags of the golfers competing in this year’s tournament to create the ideal fantasy lineup for this week’s competitions. Of note, Tiger Woods will not be participating in The Masters this year. Of course, he’s been a shadow of his former self, so it’s not really going to affect the field all that much. At any rate, here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings PGA daily fantasy leagues.

Dustin Johnson, $11,300

For all of the talk about Jordan Spieth’s potential this week it’s amazing that there isn’t more conversation about D.J. The world No. 1 is playing at an incredible level right now and there is absolutely no reason to expect him to slow down. Johnson has registered top-10 finishes in five of his seven starts this season including three wins. He is coming off back-to-back wins at the Genesis Open and the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship and nobody will be surprised if he continues his dominance this week. At $11.3K, we are extremely confident starting our DraftKings lineup with D.J. in the top slot.

Justin Rose, $9,200

Rose isn’t considered in the elite tier of DraftKings picks for this week. However, considering his overall record at this major tournament he probably should be. Rose has finished in the top-10 in three of his last five Masters appearances. He has finished in the top-25 in nine of his 11 starts at Augusta. Rose might not win this tournament outright but he should be in the mix once again. At $9.2K, Rose is an excellent value pick for DraftKings tournaments this week.

Sergio Garcia, $8,300

Garcia is another smart value pick for this week that appears to be somewhat underrated in DraftKings tournaments. Garcia has quietly racked up a win and six top-20 finishes this season. He ranks first in strokes gained off the green, 13th in Greens In Regulation and 12th in both Par 4 and Par 5 scoring. Considering his overall numbers and his immense potential heading into this week’s event, it’s clear Garcia is an excellent value pick. He’s being a little bit overlooked but it would be great to see him finally win a major.

Daniel Berger, $7,300

Berger has struggled with consistency throughout this season but there is no doubt about his immense potential. He has placed in the top-20 in three of his last six starts. However, he has also missed the cut in three of his last six starts. We are willing to take the glass half-full outlook in terms of his potential this week in big part because of his performance at Augusta last year. Berger placed 10th in his Masters debut last season. If he can even come close to duplicating that performance then he will be well worth his price tag at just $7.3K.

Adam Hadwin, $6,900

After a slight bump in his price tag following his win at the Valspar Championship, Hadwin is back at $6.9K in this week’s DraftKings competitions. That means the 29-year-old from British Columbia, Canada is an excellent sleeper value pick for the 2017 Masters. Hadwin has registered four top-10 finishes in 11 starts this year including his first PGA Tour win, so his confident should be at an all-time high this week. Priced at under $7K, Hadwin is an excellent sleeper pick.

Kevin Kisner, $6,900

Kisner is another smart sleeper pick at just $6.9K in DraftKings tournaments. He has some experience in the Masters and he is red-hot heading in the first major of the season. Kisner has placed in the top-17 in each of his last three starts including a runner-up finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. At just $6.9K, Kisner is an excellent value pick in this week’s DraftKings PGA daily fantasy leagues for the 2017 Masters.
