The Pirates plated five runs in the first, two in the second, eight in the fourth, nine in the fifth and four in the sixth, per the report. Hyun Seung Lee drove in six runs, including a two-run double that gave his club the lead during the five-run first inning, the report says.
Offensive support included Bralyn Brazoban, who had five RBIs, and Carl Calixte, who had four RBIs. Calixte’s totals included a solo home run in the first inning that came after a two-run homer by Gabriel Rodriguez, according to the report.
The Pirates finished with 18 hits — two homers, two triples, three doubles and 11 singles — while the Orioles’ staff issued 11 walks and hit another batter, the report says. Baltimore’s defense was charged with seven errors that produced 10 unearned runs; shortstop Jemone Nuel was charged with three of those errors, per the report.
Orioles starter Connor Gehr allowed seven runs on six hits and two walks in 2 1/3 innings, the report says. The Florida Complex League is a rookie-level circuit, with players typically in their late teens or early 20s, the report adds.
