Premier League Fantasy Players That Will Benefit Doing Double-Time This Week

Aston Villa has a couple of players that could perform well in fantasy with two games on tap.

Even the worst Premier League teams offer value when it comes to them playing the double game week and that is certainly the case for both QPR and Aston Villa on the upcoming slate. Neither team has been of quality this season as QPR is in the relegation zone in 19th while Aston Villa is in 16th just three points clear of it.

And despite the fact that neither team lacks any real fantasy studs aside from Charlie Austin, the fact that the players for both squads will play two games worth of minutes means they are a little more likely to produce some quality fantasy value.

Austin is an absolute must-own with 15 goals this season to rank fourth among all Premier League scorers but he isn’t the only name available that is worth picking up based on the extra value of two games in one week. With the double match day in mind, here is a look at four players you should consider adding to your fantasy team (or starting if you own them) this week.

Charlie Austin – F (QPR)

Austin has regularly been a man of the match for a QPR side that hasn’t had many bright spots other than their star striker this season. They will continue to lean on him up front to lead the way in terms of goal scoring production. Only Diego Costa, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero have scored more goals in the Premier League this season, so count on Austin to make a huge difference on your fantasy squad with two games on tap for this week, starting with West Brom later this week. Both West Brom and QPR have given up 39 goals this season, which is among the worst in the EPL, so there should be good opportunity fro Austin.

Christian Benteke – F (Aston Villa)

Benteke is an obvious choice as Villa’s fantasy point leader over his last five games even after committing five fouls for -3 fantasy points in his most recent match. The Belgian striker should be much more disciplined with two games on tap for this week and his production can’t be ignored with three goals in his last three games. Benteke is also Villa’s first choice penalty kick taker and main man in the middle of the pitch, so he should get his fair share of opportunities in terms of production with the added value of playing two games this week, starting with Manchester United later this week.

Charles N’Zogbia – F (Aston Villa)

Another striker option for Villa is worth considering – especially with their match against QPR in particular. N’Zogbia has looked great since being paired up front with Benteke in Tim Sherwood’s two-man front and is worth of consideration. Benteke might still be the best finisher on this team but N’Zogbia has created a different dimension to the Villa attack and his ability to create up front makes him an excellent option to add and start at a low price. For daily fantasy leagues – especially in the QPR matchup – he should come in on the cheap. That should provide your team with some solid fantasy value this week.

Jores Okore – D (Aston Villa)

There are a number of defender options on both sides that are worth considering since they should log plenty of minutes and produce their fair share of fantasy points but Okore plays for the better team and could be the best option among them as a rising star on Villa’s defense. At first glance, the 18 fantasy points he secured in Week 28 thanks to a timely goal stands out but perhaps what is most impressive about Okore is the fact that he has recorded at least four fantasy points in every single one of his games over the last four weeks. That could mean a minimum of eight fantasy points combined over two games in the coming week.
