Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal meet in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest. Defending champions PSG can become only the second club after Real Madrid to win the rebranded Champions League in consecutive seasons, while Arsenal will pursue the club’s first European Cup. Both clubs arrive on the back of domestic success: Arsenal ended a 22-year wait to claim the Premier League and PSG secured a fifth straight Ligue 1 title.
The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports in the U.K., CBS and Paramount+ in the U.S., SonyLIV in India and Stan Sport in Australia. Fans can also follow ESPN’s live updates. Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m. BST (12 p.m. ET; 9:30 p.m. IST; and 2 a.m. AEST on Sunday). The referee is Daniel Siebert of Germany and VAR will be Bastian Dankert, also of Germany.
Injury concerns persist for both sides. PSG listed Achraf Hakimi (thigh) and Ousmane Dembélé (muscle) as doubts, while goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (thigh) is out. Arsenal named Jurriën Timber (muscle) doubtful and confirmed Ben White (knee) is out. The report adds Dembélé is expected to recover enough to start, while both teams face late decisions over right-back availability.
Central tactical narratives center on Arsenal’s defence versus PSG’s attack. Arsenal kept nine clean sheets on the way to the final, one shy of the Champions League record, and conceded six goals in 14 games this campaign, including two in the knockout phase. PSG have scored 44 goals in this European campaign, one fewer than Barcelona’s all-time mark from 1999-2000.
Both teams showed additional strengths in the run-up to the final. PSG’s defensive performance in the second leg of their semifinal with Bayern Munich drew notice and was highlighted by manager Luis Enrique. Last season the clubs met in the semifinals, with PSG winning both ties against an injury-hit Arsenal; across those two legs Arteta’s side generated 4.54 xG to PSG’s 2.9 (3.49 xG vs. 1.97 in open play), despite injury problems.
