Quigg vs Frampton Odds For Saturday in Manchester

Quigg vs Frampton Odds

Quigg vs Frampton Odds – The Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom plays host to Scott Quigg vs Carl Frampton in what is the biggest fight of the weekend.

Quigg is 31-0-2 and is the holder of the WBA World title at Super Bantamweight, while Frampton is 21-0 and the holder of the IBF World belt. Both belts are on the line, making this a title unification bout.

The fight was announced in early November, and the promoters and fighters toured Dublin, Manchester and London on a press junket to drum up interest. Both men have been rising up the ranks for some time, and both men have captured world titles and made successful title defenses. The fight between the two has been talked about for a while, and both men are keenly interested in beating the other. That Frampton is from Dublin and Quigg is from Manchester invokes a deep regional rivalry as well.

It is interesting that Frampton opened the favorite in the fight and that he has remained that way throughout the build-up. Quigg is going to enjoy the home-court advantage, so to speak, as the fight is in his neck of the woods, and he also has noticeable height and reach advantages over the stockier Frampton.

Frampton also has a dozen less fights, but many experts do not give Quigg that much credit for the added bouts, as the quality of opposition has been better by Frampton. Frampton was dropped twice in his last fight, but he got up and won a unanimous decision over Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in Texas.

Both men appear to be gaining confidence and momentum for the fight. Quigg must feel that if he hurts Frampton the way Gonzalez did, that he will have what it takes to close the deal.  For Frampton the confidence comes in knowing he can weather the storm.

The bottom line is that this is a big fight, and even bigger things await the winner. In March, the UK is visited by Guillermo Rigondeaux, the Cuban who is considered #1 in the weight class. Rigondeaux vs the winner of Saturday’s fight would make a juicy main event later this year in England.

But the winner will also have the option of a big fight in the United States.  February 27 also sees Leo Santa Cruz fighting in California, and the Frampton vs Quigg winner could be lured stateside for that match as well.
