Quinnipiac Bobcats vs. Canisius Golden Griffins Betting Preview 02/01/19

It will be a battle between MAAC opponents when the Canisius Golden Griffins (8-12, 5-3 MAAC) welcome the Quinnipiac Bobcats (10-9, 5-3 MAAC) to the Koessler Athletic Center. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, February 1, 2019, and will air on ESPN 3.

Quinnipiac Bobcats vs. Canisius Golden Griffins Free Prediction

The Bobcats come in on a high note after blowing out the Saint Peter’s Peacocks in their last outing, 77-58. Quinnipiac was successful at getting and making free throws. The Bobcats made 22 of their 25 free throws (88.0 percent), while the Peacocks were just 7-10 (70.0 percent). With 28 points on 7-for-12 shooting, Cameron Young was the game’s high scorer.

In the Golden Griffins’ previous game, they lost to the Niagara Purple Eagles, 78-70. Niagara made good use of their 27 trips to the free throw line, converting on 22 of them (81.5 percent). Canisius, on the other hand, was just 5-7 (71.4 percent). With 12 points and nine assists, Malik Johnson had a solid game for Canisius.

This will be the second game of the season between these two squads. Isaiah Reese had 11 points and nine assists in the first game, in which the Golden Griffins topped the Bobcats 65-63. Canisius had a much better turnover percentage (12.3 vs. 19.2). Quinnipiac, meanwhile, did a terrific job of making free throws (9-12; 75.0 percent).

Points at the line could be hard to come by for Canisius in this contest. The Golden Griffins currently rank 244th in the nation with a free throw attempt (FTA) rate of 0.214, while Quinnipiac ranks third in FTA rate allowed (0.147).
