Ravens News: Michael Vick Names Lamar Jackson Fastest QB In Madden History

Just days ago, Christian McCaffery put the Madden video game in the news by reaching a ’99’ overall rating.

On Monday Night Football, Lamar Jackson preceded to smash the Los Angeles Rams and ran for a bunch of yards. Also, he threw five touchdowns; but that’s irrelevant for this post.

Accordingly, Madden developers moved Jackson to a 96 speed rating. Of course this is important because it makes him the fastest-rated quarterback in the history of the video game. Therefore who did Lamar Jackson succeed for this title? You may remember Michael Vick from way back when.

Notably, Vick sent a nice message to Jackson about passing the torch to the next generation. Undeniably, Vick seems to be a likable enough guy. It’s great to see stuff like this, with Vick poking a little fun at whoever called Jackson a running back.

Finally, this is just the beginning for Lamar Jackson. You can just kind of feel when a guy has reached the zenith and may stay there a while. In watching the video, Vick talks a little bit about a new breed of quarterback. While we have seen players in the past who come and go of this mold, it seems like Jackson has serious staying power with his talent.

If Madden is going to make him the fastest quarterback on the game – and I have played against Jackson on the game, he’s impossible to stop – what does this mean? Obviously, more kids and fans will want to play with Jackson on the game. Then, more people will want to buy his products and merchandise. This in-turn could lead to more endorsements and eventually, succeeding Tom Brady as the face of the sport.

Sometimes it feels like guys get too hyped, too quickly in the NFL. However with Jackson, it feels like he’s going to be a steady talent.

Finally, since Jackson went on this hot streak; how quiet have things been about Patrick Mahomes? That puts things into perspective how phenomenal Jackson has been of late.
